You slid the last round into reciever before reaching for the bolt, and pulling it back, sliding the first round into a firing position. Quietly you checked the range between him and the first target, before adjusting the scope to accomadate for the drop. Thankfully there was no wind today, and that allowed you to immediatly start sniping.
Your finger reached up to gently rest on the trigger guard, as you took a firm grip on the handle. The rough wood that formed the butt of your rifle pressed firmly against your shoulder. You zeroed in on the head of the first zombie, and let your finger drift toward the trigger. With a gentle caress the first shot launched form the barrel, and the rifle flew back into your shoulder.
The zeds head exploded into a cloud of gore and grey matter, as you reached forward and pulled the bolt back once more, sliding a second bullet into the chamber. With mechanical percision you aimed and fired once more, letting the loud booming report of the springfield wash over the battlefield. With inhuman focus you repeated the action until the weapon finally clicked dry.
Smiling you reached for the box of ammo next to you, and selected five more shells. The zeds hadn't even come within the range of the other snipers that guarded the farm. You fired adjusted your sights to keep up with the leading edge of undead, and drifted into the zen state that utilized by every sniper. Every particle of his being concentrated on the perfect shot, shutting the mind out of the equation.
Before you knew what had happened another five bullets flew from the barrel of your rifle. The other rifles began to fire as the zeds finally entered their effective range. You once more entered the zen state of sniping, and preparedd to make more heads burst under the strain of a high powered rifle.
Nearly an hour later you reached for ammo, and only encountered empty space. You had run out, and the zeds had managed to breach the first line of defense. The few defenders were retreating the second line of barricades, conserving as many lives as possible.
You rushed across the bridge connecting you to one of the farms. You grabbed two bandoliers from the ammo storage, and filled each with shells from the storage box. The battle was well under way, yet the same choices still hovered before you.
A)Go back to sniping...you've already killed around 100 or more of those undead
B)Go to the frontline with your pistol
C)Stay in the farm house and hide
D)Protect the people in the barn
E)Run far away
