With a crash of lightning, catapults began to launch there loads, flaming rocks blasted through the walls killing many men. Ro shouted out, "Hold your ground, our time will come!"
Ear shattering thunder began to sound as the nazzhan army began to march forth onto the gates through many volleys of arrows. Lightning lit the battlefield. Zar could vaguely be seen upon one the hills, laughing at the demise of Triten. Anger flourished in Arimus, how could Zar kill so many of his own men for lust and power. Once a great knight now a banished villain. More Fireballs broke the walls, causing gaping holes which nazzhan began to flood. In their way stood valiant men who stood their ground and fought the menacing army. Rain now was falling, drizzling making the soldiers vision, poor. The close-combat began with a flurry of strikes. The soldiers scattered from the far reaches of the kingdom of men now were all fighting under the same command. An arrow struck their captain, he fell off his horse and gasped for breath as the nazzhan rushed past him. The fight thickened as the line drew weak at the eastern gate, it finally broke as Thimarus was reaching the remnants of a dispersed line in the northern gate. Thimarus stopped and saw the eastern gate being pressured back and rushed to reached the gap in the line and regroup it. He yelled to the fleeing men, "Keep fighting! The night is still young! Fight all the family you have lost in this war, fight for Ro, and all those who are dead who died honorably!"
Majority of the men fleeing rebuilt their courage and followed Thimarus, as he led them into the gap stopping the Nazzhan advance. He had been longing for a good battle since he was rushed out of Morenas. More lines began to break Thimarus saw. He drew back and grasped his horn, he blew. It sounded loudly and gave new hope to the men, who continued to fight the invaders. Arimus Cried out, "Regroup!"
Thimarus shouted it out too. The men fell back to the stairs and made their stand for a while there. Thimarus sprinted up the steps, as he regained his breath he saw the nazzhan warlord approaching Bearing the sword of the dead ranger Tor, who died protecting him at Morenas. He took a deep breath an charged into the combat certain to kill the warlord.
Romaan was waiting impatiently watching hundreds of men being slain. Still young and eager his patience grew thin. He had not seen Thmarus's signal to charge. Romaan grunted. He echoed through the cavern, "Charge forth riders of Triten!"
He led them through the western gate to they engage the nazzhan waiting outside the battlement. The nazzhan were caught off guard, they were trampled and being pressed-back, when the dragons appeared, they swooped down crushing fragments of Romaan's forces. Romaan still pressed on, determined to reach the nazzhan”s field-commander the Dark Swordsmen. Who sat upon his horse awaiting the perfect time to charge entirely. Romaan saw him and galloped forward. Ro watched in terror as a sword thrust into the chest of Romaan killing him instantly. His bright armored body fell into the ranks of nazzhan. The rest of the cavalry soon was in full retreat. Ro could not speak a word, his whole world was shattered as he saw the faint body of Romaan fall to his death. He dropped to his knees. Arimus stood there. He could do nothing.
Thimarus rushed back to the top of the stairs where he spotted the dragons swooping down destroying whle legions of men. Thimarus planned to push the nazzhan back on the third level of the castle. Once again he blew his horn and once again his forces regrouped as the nazzhan charged up into a line of ready men. The fireballs were now striking the fourth level of Triten sending debris all over the fighters below and making rumbles throughout the kingdom. Ro regained his composure andand stood up drawing his sword, "Arimus take command I am to join this fight... Now!"
He charged down the stairs to meet the reserves and lead them into the battle. Arimus stood alone, Dracaus walked up behind him carrying a staff, he had realized his bidding on this earth. Arimus turned and smiled, " Welcome Lord Malsar. Let us win this fight side by side."
