The Ospholl Salvage Unit's truck plowed through the snow covered plains as it searched for anything valuable to bring back to the city. Borg sat on the drivers seat watching for any large animals or Raiders, as Jof watched the Heat Reader. The Heat Reader suddenly pinged, indicating that either there was something coming for them, or a signal had been dropped near a wreckage. Borg picked up the brand new radio and began a sound off, "This is Borg and Jof! Sound off and tell me what you found."
"Danger and Melody here. We ain't got nothin' where we are." It came instantly, as if they were waiting for the sound off. Borg scowled because he knew that they hadn't tried to find anything, but he kept it to himself. The radio crackled slightly and a few garbled sentences came out, then went silent. Borg snatched up his radio again. "Say again. We're getting a lot of static."
The same thing came from the radio for the second time. Borg looked at Jof for advice, but Jof was busy trying to figure out what was on the Heat Reader. "Borg! This is Gord and Frank! We had to cannibalize a radio!" Borg knew what that meant. "Which team was it?" He asked. "Daisy and Blanker, sir. They're both dead. Raiders got them I think." Was Gord's answer. Jof swore loudly as the pinging grew louder. "It's a Behemoth Signal!" He exclaimed angrily.
The Behemoth was the most feared Defense System Machine. It was piloted by over one thousand men and women and it's Captain was called Copernicus. Copernicus was known to take in anyone willing to join his crew, insane or just gun happy, he didn't care. It was also said that he once had a deformed right hand, so he made himself a golden hand, then chopped his right hand off. He was always overpriced when it came to paying for heat signals, so most Salvagers would leave them alone until they were all that was left.
Borg grunted and sent the heat signal's coordinates to the other surviving teams. "Looks like this is all we got. Get your butts over here so we can all get payed."
Yes, Karn is back again! I show my love for you all with this short story of over 2 thousand letters!

Huzzah!
Good story, getting interesting. The writing itself is getting better as well, some of the sentence structure in the last was a bit off, this one's much better.
