If you are new you've never seen this before but a good amount of people liked this story of mine. But I had to take it off for a while because I entered it into a contest. Well this is the fully edited and a bit changed version. Cheers hope ya enjoy.
I was once human. Just a simple man with simple ambitions. I was in love, I had dreams and a future. But in the end that all changed. I write this to you now as I lose what little blood I have to tell you what really happened, why I killed her, and what the newspapers won’t tell you. So let me explain, give me that much, and then you can throw this away and move on. But someone has to know. Let me start from the beginning. Where every thing I knew changed in an instant.
You see I am what one might consider...different. Altered, if you will. I am something from a nightmare, something... monstrous. I am what you thought existed only in the darkest recesses of your mind. But I did not want to become this abomination, and I did not mean to do what I did. I did not mean to kill her.
It happened one night as I took a stroll down the back roads of my little urban town. Oh dear reader how I wish I never took that walk but alas I did and there is no use in wishing for things that can never be. As I was saying, I took a walk down the back roads. It was a perfect night. Stars over head and not a cloud to block the gaze of this beautiful sky. A full moon over head. I remember I saw a newspaper on the ground. I remembered it talking about various grotesque murders in the area. I was getting tired so I turned around and then just like that it happened. A loud bang that would shatter even the calm of this night. Then a growl. But not just any growl. This was different. It was from no normal animal, I could be sure. It sent a fear deep into me that you could never know. Then something came from the woods. Concealed by the shadow I didn’t get a good look at it. But it certainly got a look at me.
Before I knew it the beast was rushing at me. I barely had a second to move before I felt claws ripping at my stomach. I didn’t have a chance to scream while I was flung by the shear force of the beast. I met the ground and began to roll down a hill. Crashing into some bushes I stopped dead. Fear consumed me and I thought that this would be the end. But no it wasn’t was it? How I wish it was. It could have ended so much misery. I lay there feeling a bit sick and trying to stay awake. I heard two loud gun shots again and a great came moan From what I guessed was from my attacker. My shirt soaked in blood I could feel that I was about to black out. Before I did I heard someone talking. I couldn’t make out what they were saying but one word rang clear: wolf. I didn’t know if it was real or if it was all in my mind but that’s what I heard. Then I lost consciousness.
When I awoke the sun was shining in my eyes. I could tell it was early the next morning. I stood up and for a while I actually forgot what happened the night before. I looked down to find my shirt was almost completely red with blood. But there was no pain. I looked under it and there wasn’t a cut to be seen. Confused and to be honest a little scared I paced around. Finally deciding I had to go home when something caught my eye. The sun reflected something on the road. I walked over and picked it up. It was a metal tag. By the looks of it silver. And engraved on it was the word “wolf.” This clinched it. I knew something was off but I couldn’t tell what it was. All I knew is that I shouldn’t tell any one about last night. I went on my way to my home as quietly as I could.
By the time I got home it looked like people were already getting up. I creeped into my house careful not to make any noise. I noticed I had a few messages but I didn’t care right now. I made my way to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. My short blonde hair was messed up and there was a combination of blood and dirt on my face. My blue eyes were bloodshot and there were bags under them. I decided to get some sleep. I was glad I wasn’t working that day. Collapsing onto my bed I fell asleep almost immediately.
I awoke the next day perfectly refreshed. I changed my shirt and took a shower. My eyes were no longer bloodshot and the bags were gone. I got up and left for the day. Everything seemed to be going alright but when I touched a piece of silver at the local church. My skin started to burn. At first I thought it was just an allergic reaction but it kept coming back to me. I mean how many people are allergic to silver?
The rest of the day I was fine. I went about my business like normal: Nothing strange, nothing out of the ordinary. I remembered to stay away from silver, which really wasn’t that difficult. It was the same the rest of the week. The only thing I could say with certainty that was strange was that I had an alarming craving for meat. No matter what I ate I couldn’t satisfy this urge for food. After a few days I started to feel better. Maybe it was all in my head. That’s what I thought any way.
But then I did something odd. I was out with my girlfriend. We were having a normal stroll about the neighborhood. But then some guy hit on her. I’ve never been the jealous type. I’ve always trusted her, but that day, that day was different. I had an overwhelming sense of anger. Like something was crawling inside of me, urging me to kill. And if I didn’t, it would do it for me.
I couldn’t control myself I started yelling. I told him that if he didn’t back off then I would make him back off. My girlfriend was nervous but I didn’t seem to care. I could hear her tell me to forget it and leave, but I would have none of it. I must have finally got her angry enough because she just walked away. But I was too wrapped up in my anger to realize. I knew something was up. Maybe in the deep corners of my mind I was still me. But I knew only one thing. I had to get home. I didn’t know why but something made me want to go home. Fear or anger I didn’t know but I turned around abruptly and walked off as fast as I could. Feeling the eyes of every one on me. I started to run, as fast as I could home.
I finally arrived home. But I was still angry. Something was different though. I’ve been angry before but not like this. My vision began to blur as I screamed out. Then it happened. I began to change. Muscle and bone shifting to accommodate a new body. My teeth grew and fur covered my body. My mind went fuzzy after that. It wasn’t me any more. I was just a shadow of the beast now. Rage took me. I rushed out of my house. Concealed by the night’s familiar darkness I went on the hunt. My mind went blank. My vision was just a blur now. I felt thirsty, thirsty for blood. I could see the street lamps now. I had stopped by now. Where I was I couldn’t tell. The beast began to sniff the air as he crawled towards the what looked like a house. One swipe of his massive claw and the door was flung off its hinges. Then I realized where I was. The beast went to her house-my girlfriends house. But why? Was it angry, did it feel my anger from before? Whatever it was I couldn’t stop it. She heard the noise and ran to see what happened. And then she was dead. As soon as she saw it the beast lunged at her. Killing her instantly. I killed her. The love of my life dead. But then dear reader a weird thing happened. I felt a sharp pain go into my back. Then burning. I looked back to see a soldier carrying a gun. He smirked and walked towards my love. He must have done something to her but I couldn’t see, I was kneeling on the ground. As the silver burned my flesh I returned to my true form, the soldier walked up to me and took the bullet out of me and broke a few pieces of furniture around him, most likely to make this whole incident look like some sort of domestic dispute.
As he walked out I grabbed a pen and paper and wrote what you are reading now. Believe me, I didn’t want to kill her. They will say I did but don’t believe them. There is something going on. A cover up, a conspiracy. What ever it is it involved werewolves. The truth is in your hands now. Do what you want but remember this. The world isn’t as it seems. Now excuse me dear reader I’m sorry to say that I am almost dead. Good bye and thank you for reading.
Sincerely yours,
The Wolf
