Death Planet is a planet near the center of the universe. It's surface was once believed to be Hell when the Christian's had first learned to travel through the cold blackness that is called "space." The first Christian flight had landed here, and had lost ninety-nine percent of it's crew. Thusly it's name, Death Planet.
Twenty-five screens flickered light into an unlit room. Each screen held a "cadet" in the middle of it. They were running the "gauntlet", the last part of training that was used to weed out the slow wits and cowards. Two men stood at attention while an obviously older man sat in-between on an ornate throne. He was glaring at one screen which held his pick of the specimens on screen. His name was Silmtex and he was never one to listen to the rules. He was the eldest trainee and held little regard for the trainers. The only thing that kept him alive was the fact that he actually listened to the Master, Ren.
Raven walked down the corridor to-wards the Gauntlet Room. His mission was simple. Get there before Ren kills someone again. Raven was one of the three people that could calm the master when his favorite was losing. He stopped in front of the door and smoothed out his hair in his favorite fashion. (This particular fashion always seemed to attract the women. No one knows why.) He opened the door as Ren's glass crashed against the floor. "Early I see." He said loudly, as was his fashion when not at war. Ren looked at him and snarled, "Silmtex is standing by the Start Door. If he doesn't start moving soon I'll have to send a squad to kill him." Raven smiled his perfect smile and spoke like the master of silver-tongues that he was, "Well at-least your second favorite is still going strong!" He pointed at the next screen which held an unusually attractive woman sneaking past a trap. "I only picked her because you liked her black hair! And her hair is only black because she's smitten with you!" Raven frowned and was at a loss for words for a few seconds. "It's not my fault she likes me, and it's not my fault that I like black!" Ren snorted loudly and ended the discussion, "Change your hair to yellow then." At that remark he went back to watching his favorite screen.
