Note: I've tried on several attempts to get into writing this story and have failed, so please don't get mad at me if I give up. Later on in the story I may include some BL please tell me if that is against the rules. I'm not very good at making up names, so many of the names in this story are deprived from Latin using the online translator, www.tranexp.com.
CHAPTER 1: Wielder of Visiobon
It was a gloomy day in Occasus, a large city that lay adjacent to the Median mountain range, which divided the entire Mainland in half. Rain drizzled off and on.
Occasus was the sole survivor of modern civilization. All of the other cities in the land had been destroyed overnight by unknown forces. In these lands, people very rarely left their hometown in fear that the mysterious forces may follow them back home. As for it's physical appearance, an average city with five skyscrapers, the tallest being in the center of town bearing a large clock not unlike Big Ben, only including offices. The four others surrounded in a circle, all connecting in three levels to all the adjacent ones. The suburbs surrounded the city and stretched at least fifty miles out wards in each direction. Beyond that just suddenly changes into fields and on the east side, the Median mountain range.
Levi Vir was an unusual 16-year-old kid. He slept during the day and stayed awake during night, anticipating the night he would see the force that destroyed so many other cities. He was slightly shorter than average, with long blonde hair and blue eyes. His family, whom as well stayed awake during the night, lived in the suburbs to the east side of the city, on the last house just before a small field turns into a small mountain which leads to gradually taller ones.
One summer night, he lay awake as usual, expecting nothing to happen. Although he never imagined what he'd later witness. He stared out the window listening to the news on TV. Normally, he would stay up and spend time with his family, or spend time with his one friend, Lance, who shared the same sleeping pattern. The two would normally play video games or sometimes go for walks. But it had been a gloomy day, so had not been in the mood for any of this.
Suddenly, the ground began to violent shake in intervals. It couldn't be an earthquake. He glanced around the skyline from his home on the edge of the suburbs. A figure could be barely distinguished from the night sky only because of the city lights. It was large and human shaped with a ferocious look in it's eyes that glew in the night. But in an instant, It stopped dead in it's tracks.
The TV had frozen as well. Now that he noticed, everything was was immobilized. Cars, birds, squirrels, even the water flow from the stream in the backyard. Only he was mobile.
Suddenly, bright blue orb appeared in front of him. It circled around for a moment before zooming out the window and off towards the mountains. He had a hunch to follow it. But he had no choice. It's human instinct.
He followed it through the open field until he reached a dirt path at the edge of the small mountain. A sign was posted at the beginning of the trail which clearly stated 'No Trespassing'. But he and Lance had sneaked through this path many times, for nobody ever patrolled the area. As he wound up the path for what seemed like hours. He and Lance had always roamed recklessly in the woods. But never this far. He was anxious to see what lied in the path through which he had never traveled. It felt weird to him without Lance accompanying him. The familiar wood that he had come to know turned dark and mysterious.
As he drew closer, still following the orb, a shrine revealed itself more with each step. The trail led straight to the entrance. He followed the orb into the shrine. There stood a woman, about 15 years old. She look not unlike a genie. The orb flew behind her and disappeared. Levi approached.
"Who's there?" he asked half shaking of fear.
The figure snapped a finger and the room flooded with light. The woman was taller than an average woman. She too had long blonde hair and was dressed in a combination of purples, yellows, and greens. Her eyes were green as a cat's. She, as before, look like a genie. She replied in a shockingly normal voice, "I see you followed the bait."
"What are you talking about?" Levi asked in a confused voice.
"I lured you here. Lured you here, to discuss your destiny, and the fate of your beloved city."
"Do you mean..."
"Yes, it is a pity that Occasus must go at last. Although, count your blessings, I predict everyone will make it out alive."
"Thank god. But how do you know all of this?"
"I am the spectator of the dead, the future, and the past. As you may put it, I am the human incarnation of the grim reaper."
Levi froze at the thought of the grim reaper standing feet away from him. He stuttered out, "So, umm, Ms. Reaper..."
"I prefer that you refer to me as my name, Victoria."
"My bad. So Victoria, are you here to take me to my death?"
"No my dear boy. I'm only her to assist you."
He sighed in relief. "So what is this about my destiny?"
"Are you familiar with the seven legendary swords?
"No."
"Well, here's some knowledge for you to soak up. The seven swords wield the power of the elements, fire, water, earth, wind, darkness, light, and chaos. In order, they are refered to as Ignis, Unqua, Humus, Ventar, Atriox, Visiobon, and Nuetraos. But Visobon and Atriox are special. By killing the wielder of an appropriate sword, Ignis and Humus for Atriox, Unqua and Ventar for Visiobon, and obtaining the appropriate gem, the sword can harness that elements power."
"Why are you telling me this?"
"Because," she snapped her finger again and a sword with purple and yellow feathers attached by a string to the blue handled rose from the ground, "you are the destined wielder of the Visiobon."
