I saw a vision yesterday A sight of malice, grief, and rage It burned me from within, my soul scorched by blackened air.
I shall tell you what I saw that day When blood ran in a dead and dreary place Blackened be deceit, and by traitorous despair
I saw corpses, flayed upon the ground rotted from within, burned into ashes Flies flew thick around them, filling the air
Mourners I saw, picking through the bodies Laying between the bodies, red roses upon the earth Upon grey soil, beacons for tormented spirits with no other guide
Gore crusted that grey earth Between red mounds of bodies burning bright with fire, Filling the dark sky with smoke and despair
Yet none of this, no body nor torched mound Could compare to the sky under which this was found Blackened by fumes and death, lit red by blood spilt upon holy ground
There was no sun nor moon nor star Smoke and cloud hid them behind a veil of darkness The gods of the sky banished by man, from death and slaughter they ran
Yet for all I saw one fact remained It wasn’t battle, rout, or conflict that I saw It was a mirror into which I stared, into mine own eyes did I gaze.

Yep! Well, it was more talking about human depravity then that, but that also works!
