"Point being? If anything, the human mind stays the same throughout the ages whilst the body matures and strengthens."
Let's think about what we post before we post it.

I'm not saying that he should be free from critisism at all. All i'm saying is that he should be free from critisism that is not constructive, espesially if it has nothing to do with the storyline at all. Paolini forgot that he tore his pants. big deal. the story didn't suck anymore from it. None of the things he pointed out were noticable at all during the storyline. I've gotta go.
Hooray Healthy Debates!

Eragon was okay, I enjoyed reading it but it was very cliched, but he betternot stop getting better because he is far from some of the better authors.

People have different tastes in books, thats a fact. People will hate Eragon because it is different that what they know now. Yes, it does take ideas from other books but these days its nigh impossible to write a completely fleshed out world with (slightly) believeable characters in it. The Urgals were thought up for the "Orc" part of the universe, for example.
Paolini isn't the best writer but he gave a good shot for a first try.

Umm... dude. Ugh... The idea is that the author should be able to weave a believable- yet of course, fantastic- world in which his story takes place. That flaw, the whole pants jambaroo, detracts from that. That's why everyone bitches about it. It doesn't damage the storyline, of course not; it damages the story itself. but the thing is, it didn't. It wasn't noticable at all. Small things like that, you just don't even notice. It does not damage the story line. Did you even read the book? It did not detract from the book at all.

I just read a bit of it. I have to say I'm giving this guy a little more credit then he deserves. So far its a great read but I have to say I hate his simetry stuff. That I feel is where he needs to work. And Grrman actually the mind is always growing the body stops after about 20 so yeah you whole point is kinda moot.
