I thought it was excellent, despite any clicheness (if that's a word). I don't remember anything about a dragon rider though. But ofcourse a farmboy becomes the hero, but It was a great story none-the-less.

Well I just watched the movie yesterday, and it turned out better than I was expecting.. but I wasn't expecting much. Knowing nothing of the book, I get a fresh look at the movie, for what it is.. a movie. And I'll give it a 5/10 Acting was pretty poor, and they need to kill the costume designer. I hate it when medieval fantasy settings all have spotless shining clothes with bright colors. The special effects were better than I was expecting but I still put them in the sci fi straight to tv movies catagory. Actually thats exactly what the whole movie felt like.

I don't plan on seeing it...well I might rent it just to get a laugh at how mentaly challenged the directors must have been to BS the movie so bad. As for the books I liked them tho they were pretty much star wars with a fantasy setting. So I don't think he is a good writer but more a good author. In my mind there is a huge diffenrence between the two.

I haven't read the books.
I saw the movie and it sucked IMO. The special effects were cool, but the movie went along way too fast and seemed to skip around a lot. Acting=Crap and the movie was very cliche.
I give it a 3/10 for good special effects, decent battle scenes, and the cool looking sword Brom gives to Eragorn.

I loved the handle when I saw it, but I think the red blade looks really cheesy in the film however.

Before I get started on how horribly the directors screwed up this book, let me just say I was expecting a whole lot freaking more than what there was. This movie made me mad, and very few things can make me get mad. For one thing, they turned the plot completely upside down! Brom died after they'd met Murtagh, and Eragon was captured and sent to Gil'lead after Brom had died! Jeez, the video game was more in order than the movie, and that's sad. the graphics were good though.
