F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon
Does anyone else have this game? I got it for Christmas with Oblivion and just started playing it 2 days ago. It's definitely a good game for FPS and Horror fans. I'm only on level 3 and I've been scared shitless plenty of times.
The combat is awesome. The guns are amazing and handle great. My favorite would have to be the shotgun. Going into slo-mo (slow motion) and blowing a guy in half in an explosion of blood is sickly sweet and satisfying. There are melee moves you can do as well. Not just a regular old bunt with your rifle, but roundhouse kicks and some other attacks. I hit an enemy with one from behind and snapped his neck. The controls take a little getting used to, but aren't hard to master.
The graphics are totally amazing. The details on weapons and enemies look great. The one problem is that most of the levels look a lot alike. Not much difference in the enviroments as you move along except for the occasional corpse or spazzing light.
Story I'm not too sure about since I'm not that far into the game.
Enemy A.I. is the best I have ever seen. They keep in contact with eachother while you fight. They'll provide covering fire to their allies while trying to flank you. When they know they're screwed they'll call for backup. If you thought outsmarting enemies on a game like Brothers In Arms was hard, wait till you face a large group of enemies in a big area in F.E.A.R.
If you like Shooters and Horror filled moments I highly recommend playing F.E.A.R. At least rent it for a weekend to see if you enjoy it. Sadly, there is no offline multiplayer. You can only play multiplayer on Xbox Live. I don't know what the MP is like cause I don't have live.
I give it a 9/10 for great gameplay, awesome weapons, and kickass graphics.
