Jerek steps into the arena. The afternoon sun shining brightly against his black cloak. He throws the cloak off as a wind picks up and carries it off. Jerek looks at his opponent and smiles. "This will be very interesting" he says as he draws his swords and gathers up his magicka for the fight.

The odd figure, who since his arrival in the imperial city arena, soon became known as shadow, walked up the familar steps of the magninficent dome of death, The arena. Blood and entrails do decorate this unholy place, as master Owyn once commented. The sun peered over the stone edge of the arna roof, watching intensly the battle soon to take place far below.
On the opposite side of the arena, was his prey. A person wielding a simple sword and black cloak. Intimidation often lies in the apparel of one, but today, for shadow at least, it made no difference. The crowd applauded as always, eager to watch one leave the palin of reality, and be buried with the thousands wherever to they dragged the lifeless bodies after the matches. Win the crwod, was always told by advisors and war coachs alike, but shadow thought this foolish. Simply lob off the opponets head, and victorius he shall emerge, and that was what shadow planned on doing.
The batttle was soon to begin, and shadow flexed in the darker corners of his slot, and streched, preparing for the battle. Jarathe murmured quietly a prayer to azura, and the gates dropped down...

The gates drop, but Jerek does not move. Jerek simply looks at hisopponent and wonders why he is so calm. "Time for pain" says Jerek as he runs into the arena. He gathers up magicka and cast a fire spell over his swords. The swords become covered in flame and throw dark shadows across Jereks face. Jerek closes the gap and swings his sword horizontal at his opponents head and aims a stab to his stomach with his other sword.

Shadow stands still as a statue until the enemy approaches, his swords now purging with a hazordous flame. Jerek runs towards shadow, and takes a swing at his head. The blow was parried by a quick raise of his shortsword, which he had drawn at a late time, almost right when the foe struck. However, the defense did not go without punishment. The strike was rather strong, and tore one of his muscles on his hand. The fool however, had forgotten that shadow was a dark elf, or so they thought, and the fire did nothing. The second sword charged at his stomach, but Shadow leapt above the horizontal attack of Jerek, flipping as he did so. Once he landed behind him, he quickly went in a crouch position, and swung his body 360 degrees, with his leg extended, in ayyempt to trip the fool. If he had suceeded this counter, he would bring the sword down on the weary fallen fool... _________________ Is that better?

Ooc: Nice Ic: Jerek mutters a curse as his strikes miss. He instinctively rolls forward on his shoulder as his opponent flips over him. Jerek stands up and turns to look at his opponent, crouched low, hate burning in his eyes. "Quick little bugger aren't ya? said Jerek with a sly smile. Jerek sheathes his left hand's sword and cancels out the fire spell. Jerek's eyes begin to turn white as ice forms on his open hand. He aims his hand, palm outward, at Shadow. Shards of ice form and begin to fly towards Shadow. Jerek advances towards Shadow, firing shards of ice the whole time.

Shadows attack failed, as the mage was far to powerful, at that moment. Jereks eyes turned crystal white, as ice developed in the closed fist of his hand. There was a small explosion of ice and snow as it reached out and sailed to its target, Shadow. The spell was far too fast for Shadow, even though he was an expert at everything speed. The ice impacted on his leg, and attached itself frozen solid attached to the ground below. Shadow muttere a few words, summoning a spell, one of the few that was capable of upholding withhis magicka supply. A flare of fire spat out from his palm, melting the ice quickly. Shadow looked up, and witnessed even more ice rampage towards him. Desperate, Jarathe used his greater power to summon an anscestor ghost, which took the blunt of the blow, and faded seconds later back into the sand. Shadow stood upright, and drew his bow. Poisoned with drain magicka his arrows were, and the lethal projectile soon soared at the mage, with lightning speed...

The arrow hit Jerek in his chest, but could not pierce his heavy raiment. Good thing I picked defense over speed he thought. He grabbed the shaft of the arrow and tore it out. Jerek focused more of his magicka and formed a protective shield of ice over his left arm. The arrows thudded into the shield as Jerek charged toward shadow, sword ready to burn through some flesh. Jerek had to get rid of the bow. He conjured up a skeleton and commanded it to charge along side him. The skeleton hefted up its axe and ran for Shadow, hungry for death and blood.
