Yeah the harry potter book sparked my craving for fantasy. As of late i've been rapped up in the hitchickers guide to the galaxy series. And they are great books and all and i plan to finish the series first i need more fantasy afterwards. Any suggestions on an amazing fantasy? I really want to sink my teeth into something brilliant so please give me some titles. I'd love a series tho if you know any. The more the better.

The Shannara "series" are books about a family over time. The plots for each book are rather simplistic, and the theme has always been good vs. evil, but terry Brooks has a way of presenting things that at least makes them interesting.
In the Eye of Heaven is medieval fantasy, basically. It is about a young man who wants to become a knight, but is constantly failing or messing up. He ends up joining up with a young lord who fights in tournaments to gain back his honour, and the young man works his way up in the ranks under this lord. Whilst they are doing that, there is also a lovely conspiracy to overthrow the king. This story has an original feel to it.
Wheel of Time is about a young farmer, Rand, who is trying to defeat the dark lord... Pretty basic, but the side stories are interesting for the first five or so books. The books are pretty big though, and can get boring...
And, while I think about it...
Children of Hurin by J.R.R. Tolkien - A tragedy, basically. Takes place in Middle Earth and all. Basically it follows the life of Turin as he lives through the curse that Morgoth placed over the children of Hurin...
Knight of the Word (trilogy) by Terry brooks - An urban fantasy, basically. A man, John Ross, is a knight of the word, and he works to combat demons as they try to take over the world. The characters are developed quite well, though, and the story moves at a quick pace.
The Magic Kingdom of Landover (series) by Terry Brooks - A semi-comedic High Fantasy story about a lawyer who finds an ad for a magic kingdom in the newspaper. All the books basically revolve around him trying to keep his kingdom, fighting against various enemies who've threatened this kingdom in the past, etc.

The Chronicles of Amber series by Roger Zelazny
They are pretty interesting books that breaks away from the standard fantasy formula. The basic premise of the series in that Earth and countless other worlds are Shadow Worlds(copies or fakes) and that there is only one true world which is called Amber. Amber is ruled over a by a family of princes and princesses who are in a constant struggle over the throne and the princes and princesses call travel through the shadow worlds. Also this summary doesn't really do justice to the series.
I also have to say that this series has been my favorite series of all time so far.
