The area Varika was walking through stood in stark contrast with the forest. It was a rolling expanse, dotted by short rocky hills. The unobstructed sky was grey and overcast, and the wind was free to run rampant across the plains.
Trudging beside her was Uthro, looking weary and sullen. He had spoken very little since they had left, and his usually stern demeanor seemed shaken. It was a little worrying.
"Are you feeling alright?" Varika asked him.
"Fine, my lady, just fine." He answered, his tone unconvincing.
"Well, alright then." She said, obviously this would get her no where.
The clouds churned in the sky, a sure sign of bad weather, and the wind began howling loudly. Another uncomfortable pause.
"Do you know why I let you go? Why I went with you?" Uthro asked, suddenly breaking the akward silence.
"No, I suppose not." Varika said with a meager laugh.
"Well, do you remember my wife?" Came another question.
What? Thought Varika- It's been so long...
"Of course, she was a lovely person." She managed finally.
"Indeed she was, the lovliest." Uthro answered, obviously fighting back a surge of emotion.
"Back when I was 6 she would take care off me whenever I ran away or got lost. She was a better cook than anyone in the manor, so I ran away a lot." She said, reminecseing about her childhood.
"She is my reason." He said simply
"What?"
"She often said she pitied things like necromancers. She always told me how sad they must be, unable to cope with the certainty of death. And so I too began to sypathize."
Varika went silent, unable to think of a response. Sad? What did she have to be sad about? Was she an exception? She could not think of an excuse.
It began to rain as the sky darkened to a grey-black hue and thunder rumbled in the distance. At the very least they were nearing the town.
"There is Adaeli, our destination." Said Uthro, pointing to a group of houses in the distance.
Varika breathed a sigh of relief. Finally the gears were in motion.
So thats part three. A littled rushed when I wrote it, but oh well.

I haven't done much with the factions. I should probably fight in the Arena, or something. I'm too busy reading the stories and sports. >_>

Writing and reading is much more fun. I think I might resign from the legion.

Oh you will? I won't but I'll not be doing the legion so much. Nothing is going on in there any way.
