This months writing competition challenge is: To see who can write the best haiku's.
Pretty blunt, I know. A haiku is this:
You are to created 5 haiku's by August 25. Your Haikus will have to describe the following things.
The thing your first haiku will describe is this: Free slot. Your own Haiku.
Your second haiku will be based on: A rainbow
Your third Haiku will be based on: A tall Mounatin Peak
Your fourth Haiku will be based on: A Bullet
Your fifth Haiku will illustrate: Grief
Remember, the deadline is August 25th. You are to PM your entires to myself. Good luck!
If you have any questions, post them here.

Haikus are fun. Too bad I suck at them.

okay I might consider doing this but I don't know the syllable scheme for five lines.

Here are a few examples:
As the wind does blow
Across the trees, I see the
Buds blooming in May
I walk across sand
And find myself blistering
In the hot, hot heat
Falling to the ground,
I watch a leaf settle down
In a bed of brown.
It’s cold—and I wait
For someone to shelter me
And take me from here.
I hear crackling
Crunch, of today’s new found day
And know it won’t last
So I will leave it
At bay; and hope for the best
This bitter new day

Never mind I misunderstood the post, I thought it said five lines not five haikus... >_>;

Now here's a question:
Some pronunciations vary between people and regions. With that change in pronunciation also come a change in syllable counts. For example, family can be said two ways: fam-uh-lee and fam-lee. How will this be taken into consideration?

I guess you tell us the pronunciation you used, and if we find that it is an actual pronunciation of the word we accept it.
