what a beautiful way to run an arena lol
IC:
Phoenix stood before the heavy bars guarding the arena from unwanted intrusion. Clapping his powerful hands together Phoenix whispered thanks to whatever Deity watched over him. Finally he reached for the long sword on his back. He twirled it in intricate patterns before saluting his opponent. So far he had yet to use his backup weapons, but he felt that that would change tonight.
As the gates rose he saw his settled into the balanced frenzy of a warrior. A contradiction, patient, yet at the same time burning with a passion that eschewed the wait. Calm, yet in a rage so complete words could not describe. Finally compassionate, yet filled with a longing to let his blade roam free.
Stepping into the ring he decided that he would let passion make the first move. He let loose an inarticulate yell and charged ready to taste the blood of his opponent.

Humans were just like wolves if you thought about it. Gordon thought as he strode lightly to the gated area. The fans were already in a frenzy just awaiting the upcoming match. Just like wolves. He thought again. Same ways only in different forms. They both cared deeply for their pups, but they would also push around weaker members if it so suited them.
He looked through the bars of the gate at his opponent. His opponent saluted him after a show of blade skill. Gordon was quite impressed of his opponent. Unlike his first opponent in the Tournoment, who was quite foolish and had called him animal more then once, Phoenix was a man of honor. He gave a slight bow as the gate began to go down. Phoenix waited a second before yelling and charging towards Gordon. He smiled and got ready for his opponent's rush. As Phoenix got near Gordon moved swiftly inside of the sword blow and swung a heavy book at his face. Phoenix was knocked over, but Gordon didn't strike his opponent. Gordon put his left hand into his shield's holder and pulled his own long sword from it's sheath. As Phoenix got up Gordon put in his own salute. Gordon beleived that honor, deserved honor.
OOC: I tryed my best. ^_^ You have a great character Me.

Though he has been described as an animal, it doesn't mean he will fight or act like one. Phoenix thought as his salute was returned. He can fight with passion, but can he fight in a cold an practical manner. Can he calculate? Hoping that this would be the key to unlock victory against this opponent, he scanned the floor and surroundings. Like always debris from previous matches littered the floor. So like last time he could use this to his advantage. Spying a broken blade half buried in the sand an idea came to him. He charged Gordon and swiped at his chest. The blade was redirected an a parry was delivered. Diving under the blade he managed to make his opponent miss, and when he hit the ground he swept his opponents feet out from under him. Then rolling back wards he launched several spells. One of frost, one of drain block, and one of fire. He could see the magic leave his hand, and when it did he immediately let loose several more spells. occ: thanks I try

OOC: Ohh rapid fire. Nice touch. =D
Gordon only saw the first two spells being unleashed. He easily evaded them both, but the fire spell easily shattered his shield into fragments of Iron and wood. The explosion knocked him back several feet, but he was ready with his next move. He quickly drew his book from his belt and placed it on the ground, then put his hands on a open page and read the words in a whisper. In a matter of one second a fiery wind was blowing, and a small fissure had opened, and from that hole in the earth two large scaly hands quickly protruded. Gordon had summoned a Deadroth! It pulled it's bulk from the fissure and shook itself. Casting a protection spell of some kind over it's body, it then lumbered towards it's prey, Phoenix!
Gordon pulled his hands from the two burnt pages and sighed. He only had so much magick left and he would have to use uit wisely.
OOC: Hurray! Evil! Hopefully Phoenix won't think the worse of him after this. This is a desperation move.

Krans watched this match going on, relishing the brutality and odd honor of fighting in the arena.

OOC: Makes sence. A Deadra Lord would be hard to controll. Even for a master.
