As his opponents Daedroth stomped toward him he summoned a creature of his own. Another Daedroth pulled itself from Oblivion and after activating a quick spell ran forward to meet its brethren. Now Gordon was the only enemy left. Charging forward he blinded his enemy by quickly throwing a high magnitude spell of light at his enemies eyes. Though the spell had been designed to light ones way, it was perversely effective at blinding enemies.
Then he began too batter away at his opponents defenses with a furious offense. All this was designed to distract Gordon from the real strike. Phoenix had, earlier in the match, buried one of his short swords under a thin layer of sand. using telekineses he pulled the sword out of the ground and plunged it blade first into Gordon's leg.
Stopping only to sheath his sword, and drink a bought potion to refill his magic he charged once again.

Gordon felt the blade enter his leg. He quickly ripped it out and casted it aside. His opponet was charging again, so Gordon moved swiftly and grabbed Phoenix's sword arm and muttered an incantation to drain his opponents life and add it to his own.
His magicka was quickly spent and Gordon leaped dodged backwards with a mostly healed leg.

Quickly recovering Phoenix felt strangely drained, almost as if the very life that sustains him was drained. This time he strode forward cautiously, and began to engage his enemy in combat. They traded blows for what seemed like an eternity, both never being able to reach the skin of their opponent.
They stood still and traded blows like prize fighters of the great kings of old. Though they had yet to find each others blood, the thrill of victory ran through their blood. Such was a battle sought after by every man. Denied to all but the most worthy, yet something would have to give.
When it happened it surprised both men. Their swords were both wrested from their grips by their opponents blade. What lay before them was either a mad scramble for their back ups, or a continuation using only their fists. He eyed his opponent, honor required him to raise his fists if his enemy choose to.

Gordon was bad in open fist fights. He always hated to do it, but his honorable opponent would only go the way he went so he quickly pulled out his back-up long sword. This one was made of steel and was his pride ever since he had found it in an old cave. He waited for his opponent to draw his own blade so the battle could commence.

As his opponent drew a steel long sword, Phoenix Smiled and drew both his short swords. Both were made of steel, both were deadly, both had drawn blood before. Still smiling he slashed at Gordon's head, then as he missed used the momentum to spin while reversing his grip on the other blade. As soon as he was in line with his opponent he stabbed backward trying to catch his opponent.
Instead the strike was dodged and a return strike was aimed at decapitating him. Rolling toward the blade he felt, and heard it slice the air, barely missing him. Now facing his enemy he lunged forward with his blade, and watched as his opponent knocked it out of line. Never one to waste an opportunity he reached down as if to catch himself, and froze Gordon's feet to the ground.
Rolling past his now immobilized opponent he quickly stood up and fired a spell of lightning at Gordon.

The lightning attack struck his well hidden bucklers causing them to explode into splinters, which flew in every direction. Gordon's face was a picture of agony as quite a few of the fast moving splinters lodged into his back.
Feeling the ice weakening, he pulled free and once agin turned to face his opponent. Only this time both weren't feeling to good.

Phoenix watched as his opponent once again turned to face him. He felt weakened, he was running at the limits of his endurance, and he saw that his enemy was as well. This battle would be interesting. Warily watching his opponent he tried to devise a strategy that would provide victory. He quickly took inventory of what he had. Two short swords, a crappy raiment, and enough magic for maybe five spells.
Once again he looked at Gordon. Such a look only meant one thing, respect, and admiration. Such were the things being traded by the two warriors, yet both knew that there could only be one winner. They both intended to be that winner.
Moving fast Phoenix charged at his opponent, but before he got into striking range he used his skill at telekineses once again to throw dust high into the air. The cloud was aimed at obscuring Gordon's vision and allowing him to attack with impunity.
Only four spell left. He thought as he ducked into the cloud.
He could imagine the surprise that would be evident on his opponents face as his next move was unveiled. The quickening of the pulse, the perspiration when suddenly. A scamp came bounding out of the cloud trying to destroy Gordon. Three spells left. He decided to save those as he dove into the fray.
Gordon had been distracted by the easily disposable Scamp and had forgotten to watch his back. A single swing was aimed at his opponents legs.

Gordon's Feral senses had kicked in. He heard his opponent going for a back shot while his scamp charged him from the the front. Gordon already knew what to do, he quickly grabbed the scamp and tossed it shrieking at Phoenix. Gordon quickly pulled out his axe to match his sword. He rushed forth to attack.

Gordon threw the Scamp at Phoenix, he hadn't been expecting such a counter attack. He tried to tumble back out of the scamps way. All he managed to do was take the hit in his head instead of his gut. He lay had trouble getting back up until he saw Gordon standing above him holding an Axe, and a blade. He immediately rolled to his right as an Axe descended on the empty sand.
He scrambled to his feet, as his opponent swung yet again. He tried to jump out of the way, but was just not fast enough. The Axe inflicted a shallow wound across his chest. He jumped back wards and fired another spell. There was almost no way it could miss at this range.
